Minimise switching loss with these 600V IGBTs from Infineon

Infineon has introduced its Trenchstop Performance IGBTs that promise to deliver high efficiency to 30kHz hard-switching power conversion applications, as well to provide remarkable trade-off between conduction and switch-off energy losses. The 600V devices include 30A, 40A and 50A single IGBTs and 30A, 40A and 50A IGBTs co-packaged with a Rapid 1 silicon diode in a TO-247 package, added the company.

According to the manufacturer, the combination of trench top-cell and field-stop concepts improves both static and dynamic device performance. The 600V Trenchstop Performance IGBTs serve as plug-and-play replacements for previous Trenchstop products, yielding 7% lower Ets at a switching frequency of 8kHz and 11% lower Ets at a switching frequency of 15kHz.

Trenchstop Performance IGBTs enable higher efficiency in motor control, air conditioning compressors, HVAC motor drives, uninterruptible power supplies and solar power converters. The devices feature 5μs short-circuit capability, dV/dt switching of less than 5V/ns and low EMI behaviour, indicated Infineon.
