50W DC/DC converters aimed at industrial environments
Keywords:Absopulse converter industrial solar railway
Absopulse has introduced what it says are ruggedised DC/DC converters in the HVI-50-F2 series that meet IEC 61373 Category 1 A & B standards for shock and vibration. The converters provide 50W of output power and are geared for operation in industrial environments and can also be modified for solar and railway applications.
The devices feature internal boards that have conformal coatings for protection from moisture and airborne contaminants, and the converters achieve an MTBF of 130,000 hours at 45°C.
The HVI-50-F2 series accepts a nominal input voltage of 900VDC with a wide 600VDC to 1.2kVDC input range. Standard outputs include 12VDC, 24VDC and 48VDC. Cooling by conduction and natural convection enables operation over a temperature range of zero to 50°C without derating. Higher temperatures can be accommodated on request.
Input protection features include inrush current limiting, reverse polarity protection and an internal safety fuse. The converters provide input-to-chassis isolation of 3kVDC, input-to-output isolation of 4.3kVDC, and output-to-chassis isolation of 700VDC. N+1 redundancy is optional.
