Ferroelectric Random Access Memory (FRAM) is an ultra-low power nonvolatile memory technology with write speeds similar to static RAM (SRAM). The technology has been in the industry for over a decade, implemented as stand-alone memory. FRAM's first introduction as an embedded memory in a general purpose ultra-low-power MCU was on Texas Instruments 16bit MSP430 product line, the MSP430FR57xx family.
