AD/DA FMC module suits limited space applications

4DSP LLC has unleashed the FMC144, an analogue-to-digital (A/D) and digital-to-analogue (D/A) FMC daughter card for multi-channel data acquisition and high-speed signal processing and recording. It offers front panel analogue I/O access and can be used in a conduction-cooled environment. This module provides four 16bit A/D channels at 370Ms/s and four 16bit D/A channels at 2.5Gs/s.
Suited for multi-antenna arrays used in the telecommunications industry, this product claims to deliver high-bandwidth connectivity for calculation-heavy FPGA-based applications including beamforming and direction finding.
The factory default configuration of the FMC144 is as a standard FMC module with a high-pin count (HPC) connector on the bottom of the card, but the card can also be configured as a stackable module with HPC connectors on both the top and bottom sides.
According to the company, stacking multiple FMCs enables higher channel density and creates opportunities to expand functionality while maintaining a small hardware footprint in applications where space is limited such as in aircraft instrumentation and wireless telecom equipment.
The FMC144 also features a JESD204B serial interface, a flexible clock tree, and AC or DC-coupled analogue signals.
