ProTek Devices has rolled out a voltage suppressor component geared to deliver power bus circuit protection using features such as a rated stand-off of 78V, bidirectional configuration and a package weighing just 9.8g. According to the company, the 2700SM78CAN also provides 2,250kW of peak pulse power per line (typical = 8/20uA).

In addition, the component provides a peak pulse current of 15kA (typical = 8/20uA) and other features suited for power bus voltage suppression. They include a minimum breakdown voltage of 86V, a maximum clamping voltage of 150V, and a maximum leakage current of 10uA. Leakage current is rated at 10V, detailed ProTek.

The 2700SM78CAN is RoHS complaint (exemption #7A - high power device) and is provided with lead-free silver plating. Its co-planarity is < 0.10mm. The flammability rating is UL 94V-0. Storage temperature is -55°C to 150°C and operating temperatures are -40°C to 125°C.

ProTek Devices' 2700SM78CAN is available in mass quantities. Pricing starts at around $24.79 per part in minimum quantities of 100 units. It's available in 32mm tape and reel, per EIA standard 481, which provides 250V suppressor components per 32mm tape.
