Wurth Elektronik eiSos has announced its WE-CFWI range of coupled flatwire inductors. According to the firm, the devices target high-performance switching regulators to allow them to cope with high currents.

The windings can be connected in series and in parallel. This means the compact, double choke can be used in SEPIC, CUK or buck/boost converters. The special core material enables high saturation currents of up to 62A, which is four times higher than previously comparable double chokes, stated the company. Soft saturation, a very tight tolerance inductance and very low DC resistance with only 10 percent tolerance is convincing.

The leakage inductance of less than 0.5 percent reduces peaks in start-up currents. Excellent inductance stability over temperature and low DC resistance makes this component particularly suitable for high-performance switching regulators.

This component is available in an extended temperature range up to 150℃, and inductance values of up to 17.6uH.
