Low-capacitance SPDT bus switch for mobile apps

Toshiba Corp. has unleashed a low-capacitance single pole double throw (SPDT) bus switch IC aimed at digital equipment that requires high speed data processing. The TC7SB3157DL6X is intended for small mobile devices such as mobile phones, tablets, portable audio players, digital still cameras and digital video cameras.

The increasing volumes of data that digital equipment handles require high speed bus switch ICs. The TC7SB3157DL6X lowers switch terminal capacitance to reduce dullness at the rising and falling edge of signals, enabling their use in high-speed two-way communication and data switching. The product adopts MP6B, a small general purpose back electrode type package, allowing for use in applications that require high-density mounting such as mobile digital equipment, noted Toshiba.

The products features switch terminal ON-capacitance: CI/O (Typ.): 15pF at VCC=5V and ON-resistance RON (Typ.) of 4Ω at VCC=4.5V, VIS=0V; and 6Ω at VCC=4.5V, VIS=4.5V. In addition, it supports a range of operating supply voltages: VCC=1.65-5.5V, and enables bi-directional interface without the DIR pin.

The TC7SB3157DL6X is housed in a 1.45 x 1mm MP6B package with mass production scheduled to start in November this year.
