Rigol Technologies has announced its DS1000Z series digital oscilloscope that features an analogue front end (AFE) and a trigger unit. Aimed to cut test time in research, development and failure analysis applications, the 4-channel digital oscilloscopes boast comprehensive trigger functions, advanced hardware based real time waveform record-replay (as an option) as well as search and analysis functions.

The unit's AFE delivers a 1mV/div to 10V/div vertical range with full 70-100MHz bandwidth. Rigol's "UltraVision" technology supports up to 1GS/s and up to 12Mpts of memory depth that makes it easy to capture long time signals with higher timing resolution, noted the firm.

Waveform capture rate is up to 30,000wfms/s. The display offers 256 levels of intensity grading to see the infrequent events quickly. In addition, the optional hardware based real time waveform record as well as the replay and analysis function are powerful debug tools to find the anomalies easily. Up to 16 trigger functions are available including Runt, Setuphold, Windows, Nth Edge, (option). The digital oscilloscopes feature serial bus trigger and decodes such as I2C, SPI, RS232, (optional) as well as advanced math functions.

The thin and lightweight instruments are equipped with a 7in colour display, they sell for a starting price for about Rs.3.72 crore ($591,000).
