Global Specialties unwraps AAR Arduino Robot

Global Specialties has announced the availability of the AAR Arduino Robot. The company said the small autonomous mobile robot is aimed at those new to the robotics world and also for experienced Arduino fans. It can also be used for both hobbyists and for school projects, added the firm.

Designed in the Arduino open-source prototyping platform, the AAR is easy to program and run, noted Global Specialties. The AAR comes with a comprehensive CD that includes all the software needed to write, compile and upload programs to your robot.

The AAR Arduino Robot features an ATmega328P, 8bit AVR-RISC processor with 16MHz clock, includes firmware and hardware selftest, and is delivered fully assembled (no soldering needed). It also has an on-board odometer sensor on both wheels, line tracker sensor and a USB interface programming. Expansion kits are available for the robot that also features an I2C bus, two independently controlled 3VDC motors, 14 digital I/Os on the processor (9 free) and eight analog input lines (2 free). Additionally, the product offers an ISP connector for bootloader programming and is capable of wireless control possible with optional Bluetooth and 433MHz RF.

The Model AAR Arduino Robot is available for Rs.4,293.48 ($79) with a one-year warranty.
