Image sensor sets sights on auto, security apps
Keywords:image sensor VGA CMOS
The TCM5114PL image sensor has a dynamic range of 100dB at 60fps at full resolution output for VGA. By combining a large 5.6µm pixel, 640 (H) x 480 (V) array, integrated ISP and HDR functions, it enables optimal images in low-light conditions. The sensitivity of the sensor is at >6V/lx.s also improves images at very low luminescence levels. Plus, the sensor facilitates colour reproduction through its primary Bayer colour filter.
The sensor has a single 3.3V source power supply, which reduces component count and board real estate, lens shading correction, picture flip (both horizontal and vertical), auto white balance, auto luminance (exposure) control, auto flicker detection and correction, defect pixel corrector, programmable gamma correction standby mode (software standby), and power-down mode (hardware standby).
The sensor supports YUV422/RGB565/ RGB888/ RAW10/RAW12 data formats, and has both digital and analogue (NTSC/PAL) interfaces to connect to display panels.
The TCM5114PL VGA image sensor is now sampling, priced at Rs.1,322.75 ($25). Mass production is scheduled for March 2013.
