WishTel to launch PrithV tablet for Rs.2,600

The PrithV tablet, designed to serve all the global education needs, will support 85 global languages including English, Spanish, French, German, Arabic, Urdu, Zulu and 23 Indian languages.
Designed and engineered in India, PrithV comes loaded with educational suite to offer self learning software for pre-primary, tertiary, higher education, WishTel said.
"Our objective as a technology and manufacturing company is to create affordable range of products that can contribute to society by extending education for free and without boundaries," said Milind Shah, CEO of Wishtel.
"We intend to offer our solutions to universities and schools worldwide and empower every student with a PC enabling them to learn and educate themselves beyond textbooks, access and create their own knowledge."
PrithV is a free and open source platform offering access to library of over 30 lakh books, encyclopaedia, class room videos, virtual lab for Science, Math, and Geography.
PrithV tablet PC will be available for Rs.2,645.50 ($50), while the netbooks will cost Rs.6,349.21 ($120), the company said.
WishTel, which lost the bid to Datawind for the Aakash tablet, said "it will participate in the bidding for second round when the government floats a tender."
