Using LMZ20502 / LMZ20501 eval board

The LMZ20502/01 nano modules are DC-DC solutions optimised for space-constrained applications. The LMZ20502 is capable of driving up to 2A load. The LMZ20501 is a 1.5A load current version module, pin-to-pin compatible with the LMZ20502.

The evaluation board is configured for 1.8V output voltage from 2.375V to 5.5V input. The resistor voltage divider RFBT and RFBB set the output voltage. The CFF capacitor improves the ripple on the output voltage. The board features three pins jumpers for EN, Mode and Frequency response analyses for easier modification during evaluation. The Board has a double sided six pin connector to a breakout board for better organisation of the wires when using sensing, EN toggle and Thermal measurement. LMZ20502 Board also comes with turret terminals for connection to input supply, ground and load.

The board comes with features such as: power good monitoring when connected to a rail, inductor current sensing using a wire loop across the multi-layer vias before the output capacitors, Jumper option for mode pin to run the part on PFM or PWM at light load, Frequency response jumper to measure the response across the injection voltage resistor and the Enable jumper to meaure the quiescent current of the module.
