Semiconductor industry map coming soon!

An Irish company Xerenet is launching first-of-its-kind website for semiconductor industry. The website,, features an interactive global map of the semiconductor industry and will be launched on November 6, 2012.

"The map has simple search filters built-in, enabling users to quickly and easily explore this exciting and innovative industry through direct links to listed organisations' websites," the company said.

The map currently features over 1,150 companies at almost 2,500 locations around the world.

"This list is set to grow after the site launches as more companies in the semiconductor ecosystem join."

In the Asia Pacific region alone, there are 740 separate engineering and academic institutions currently displayed on the map.

"This product will be of huge significance to marketing and sales executives selling into the industry internationally. In addition, the map will be invaluable to job seekers who are researching jobs and academic institutions seeking partner companies."

Students hoping to enter the semiconductor industry will find a current listing of over 415 academic institutions offering electronic engineering qualifications.
