National Instruments releases the WSN-3214 wireless sensor network Strain Node and the NI 9232 C series dynamic signal acquisition module to help engineers monitor machines, heavy equipment and ageing infrastructure.

Engineers can integrate the two devices with the company's CompactRIO programmable automation controller for predictive maintenance to predict faults, analyse fatigue, lower operating costs and decrease downtime.

The WSN-3214 strain node features four analogue input channels that support quarter-, half- and full-bridge completion; and two digital I/O channels for event detection and programmatic control. Ability to perform on-board data processing, save data locally, or predict fault conditions with the NI LabVIEW WSN Module.

The NI 9232 C Series Module has an input range of ±30V, features 4mA IEPE current excitation and operates in the 41kHz bandwidth. It has screw terminals and open/short sensor detection for use in permanent industrial monitoring applications.

The WSN-3214 strain node is priced at Rs.32,554.35 ($599). The NI 9232 module is priced at Rs.81,467.39 ($1,499).
