Texas Instruments Inc. rolls the TPS84250 and TPS84259 power modules for noise-sensitive analogue circuits.

They integrate the DC/DC converter, inductor and passives in a 9mm x 11mm x 2.8mm package that is said to be easy to use. They meet the EN55022 Class B electromagnetic emissions standard and feature frequency synchronisation to cleanly power noise-sensitive analogue circuits in test and measurement, industrial motor control, medical and imaging applications.

The 2.5A TPS84250 step-down power module offers 65V transient protection and supports input voltages from 7V to 50V, providing a positive output voltage from 2.5V to 15V.

The TPS84259 power module is designed for applications that require a negative output voltage. Taking 4.5V to 40V input, it provides output voltage down to -17V for powering sensors, bipolar amplifiers, split-rail data converters and other analogue circuits.

The TPS84250 and TPS84259 power modules are available in volume now in a 41-lead QFN package priced at Rs.291.67 ($5.25) and Rs.333.33 ($6), respectively, in 1,000-unit quantities.
