SBC for COTS apps packs Intel Core i7

Extreme Engineering Solutions Inc. rolls the 6U CompactPCI single board XCalibur4402 computer.

The SBC supports the Intel Core i7 processor and features the Intel QM67 Express chipset. It also uses the processor's dual- or quad-core technology with Intel Hyper-Threading Technology. The computer is available in conduction-cooled and air-cooled versions, and is suited as a COTS solution for military, communications, and industrial applications.

The XCalibur4402 offers up to 16GB of DDR3-1600 ECC SDRAM in two channels, and up to 128GB of NAND flash and 32MB of NOR flash. Its rear panel has Gigabit Ethernet ports, USB 2.0 ports, SATA 3Gbit/s ports, and the graphics ports. While the front panel may have optional RS-232/485 serial port, 10/100/1000BASE-T Ethernet port, USB 2.0 port, and two PrPMC/XMC sites.

The SBC complies with PICMG 2.0, 2.1, 2.3, 2.9, and 2.16 and offers in-house X-ES operating system support for Wind River VxWorks BSP, Linux BSP, Windows drivers, and other OS upon request (QNX Neutrino BSP, LinuxWorks LynxOS BSP, and Green Hills INTEGRITY BSP).
