Analog Devices Inc. unveils the AD8122, an integrated triple differential receiver and adjustable cable equaliser for use in high-resolution analogue video distribution systems. Offering the industry's highest equalised bandwidth at 300m and claiming the lowest power consumption, the AD8122 tips 60MHz of equalised bandwidth, with only 16mV rms noise and settling time of only 70ns to 1 per cent, at up to 300m, the maximum cable length.

It can transmit UXGA and 1,080p video over long distances while maintaining image sharpness and clarity, using only 0.93W, 13 per cent less than the nearest competitor. Applications for this high-performance cable equaliser include KVM (keyboard-video-mouse), digital signage and professional video projection/distribution.

The AD8122 integrates an adjustable low pass filter (LPF) to minimise board space and shorten design time needed to optimise image quality. It offers equalisation for both Cat-5 and coaxial cables, and is compatible with RGB and VGA display resolutions up to UXGA and 1,080p.

The AD8122 operates from -40°C to +85°C. It is available now in a 40-lead LFCSP, priced at Rs.540.98 ($9.90) (at 1K units)
