At the WWDC 2012 developer conference, Apple announces a thinner MacBook Pro with Retina display, MacBook Air update, and iOS 6.

Here are the latest offerings:

MacBook Pro with Retina display

Apple unveiled a new, thinner 15-inch MacBook Pro equipped with a Retina display that has a 2880 x 1880 resolution at 220ppi (pixels per inch). The company is offering two models in this category—2.3GHz and 2.6GHz.

Measuring just 0.71 inch high and weighing only 4.46 pound, the new MacBook Pro is claimed to be the lightest MacBook Pro ever and nearly as thin as a MacBook Air.


MacBook Pro with Retina display

The first model features a 2.3GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 processor, 8GB of 1600MHz DDR3L memory (configurable to 16GB), 256GB of flash memory, Intel HD Graphics 4000, Nvidia GeForce GT 650M with 1GB of GDDR5 memory, and automatic graphics switching. This model is priced at Rs.1.15 lakh ($2199).

While, the second model with 2.6GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 processor and 512GB of flash memory, comes at Rs.1.47 lakh ($2799).

MacBook Air update

Apple updated MacBook Air with the latest Intel Core processors, faster graphics, and flash storage that is up to twice as fast as the previous generation. The current generation 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Pro have also been updated with the latest Intel quad core Ivy Bridge processors and graphics from Nvidia. The entry level model is priced at Rs.52,303.66 ($999).


MacBook Air updates


The company also unveiled iOS 6, introducing over 200 new features to the mobile operating system. Apple released a beta version for the developers.

iOS 6 will be available to iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch users this fall as a free software update.



The new OS features all-new Maps app with Apple-designed cartography, turn-by-turn navigation, and a new Flyover view; new Siri features, including support for more languages (no Hindi), easy access to sports scores, restaurant recommendations, and movie listings; Facebook integration for Contacts and Calendar, with the ability to post directly from Notification Center, Siri, and Facebook-enabled apps like Photos, Safari, and Maps; shared Photo Streams via iCloud; and Passbook, the simplest way to get all your passes in one place.
