Japan's Mitsubishi Electric Corporation (MELCO), a provider of electrical and electronic equipments, and NeST, a provider of specialised software and engineering services, have set up an exclusive development centre in India.

The development centre located at NeST Towers inside Technopark, Thiruvananthapuram will cater to the increasing demand for complex software found in new generation cars.

With initial capacity of 200 engineers, the new centre will develop advanced in-vehicle systems that Mitsubishi supplies to the global car manufacturers.

"With over 1,500 engineers in Technopark, working on cutting-edge technologies in VLSI, hardware design, software and algorithms development, NeST is a natural choice for developing complex audio, video and navigation systems for companies like MELCO. We are really excited by the development of this relationship," said S Sasi Kumar, president, NeST Software, a company which offers customised software and hardware development services for engineering applications and product development services.
