Alpha and Omega Semiconductor Ltd (AOS) releases the AON6270 and AON6280, 75V and 80V AlphaMOS (aMOS) medium voltage MOSFETs targeting a wide range of applications such as secondary side synchronous rectification in DC/DC and AC/DC converters, primary side switching in telecom and industrial DC/DC converters, POL modules for telecom systems, motor drives, UPS, and industrial automation tools.

 AON6270

The AON6270/ AON6280 are said to deliver the best figure-of-merit for RDS(ON) * COSS.

Power supply designers can now improve efficiencies even further through the lower conduction and switching losses made possible by AON6270 and AON6280. These new devices are said to deliver the best figure-of-merit for RDS(ON) * COSS, which is 34 per cent and 29 per cent better than the current leading competitors, respectively.

The 75V n-channel AON6270 offers RDS(ON) < 3.9mΩ at VGS = 10V; COSS = 615pF typ; and Qg (10V) = 60nC typ.

The 80V n-channel AON6280 offers RDS(ON) < 4.1mΩ at VGS = 10V; COSS = 592pF typ; and Qg (10V) = 58nC typ.

The low output capacitances in combination with low Qg reduce MOSFET switching losses. These devices are available in the compact size DFN5x6 green package and are 100 per cent Rg and UIS tested.

Both AON6270 and AON6280 are immediately available in production quantities with a lead-time of 12-14 weeks. The unit price for 10,000 pieces of each device is Rs.60.41 ($1.184).
