Rectifiers target solar cell junction boxes

Vishay Intertechnology Inc. grows its line of TMBS Trench MOS Barrier Schottky rectifiers with the announcement of 12 new 45V devices with current ratings from 10- to 40A in three power package options.

TMBS Trench MOS Barrier Schottky rectifiers offer low forward voltage down to 0.51V typical at 20A.

The rectifiers are targeted as bypass diodes for protection in solar cell junction boxes because their low forward voltage drops down to 0.51V typical at 20A. The devices include the single-chip V(B,F)T1045BP, V(B,F)T2045BP, V(B,F)T3045BP, and V(B,F)T4045BP. Each device is offered in the power TO-220AC, ITO-220AC, and TO-263AB packages.

The rectifiers all feature 200°C maximum junction temperature in DC forward current without reverse bias (t = less than 1 hour). They are compliant with RoHS Directive 2002/95/EC and WEEE 2002/96/EC.

The TO-263AB packages offer a moisture sensitivity level of 1, per J-STD-020, LF maximum peak of 245°C. The TO-220AC and ITO-220AC packages feature solder bath temperatures of 275°C maximum, 10s, per JESD 22-B106, and they are halogen-free in accordance with the IEC 61249-2-21 definition.

Samples and production quantities of the 45V TMBS rectifiers are available, with lead times of eight weeks for larger orders.
