Keywords:analogue  switches  ARINC  communication bus  multiplexer IC

Holt Integrated Circuits grows its analogue switch family with three new products that are designed for multiplexing the ARINC 429 communication bus.

The HI-8195, HI-8196 and HI-8197 switches are suitable for applications that require the switch to be open circuit when power is off. Switch On-Resistance (RON) is 28Ω maximum and within 10 per cent flat across a ±5V common range. They operate from a 3.3V or 5V logic supply and an analogue supply which can range from ±10V to ±15V.

The switches are quad single-pole/single-throw (SPST) switches that are open-circuit anytime all the supply pins are ground. The HI-8195 has four normally open (NO) switches, the HI-8196 has four normally closed (NC) switches and the HI-8197 has two NO and two NC switches. The devices are fabricated on a robust silicon-on-insulator (SOI) technology for latch-up free operation and maximum isolation, with low off-state leakage. Switching operation is break-before-make.

The devices are available in industrial −40°C to +85°C and extended −55°C to +125°C temperature ranges and come in 16 pin SOIC and 5mm x 5mm 16-pin QFN packages.
