Microchip Technology Inc. launches the Microstick II, a low-cost development tool supporting 3.3V 16bit and 32bit PIC MCUs, as well as 16bit dsPIC Digital Signal Controllers (DSCs) in 28-pin SPDIP packages.

 Microstick II

Microstick II is a low-cost development tool supporting 3.3V 16bit and 32bit PIC MCUs, as well as 16bit dsPIC DSCs.

The flexible Microstick II tool features an integrated debugger and programmer, user LED, reset button, and DUT socket for easy device swapping. The USB-powered tool can be used stand-alone or plugged into a prototyping board for extremely flexible development, and is supported by the MPLAB X Integrated Development Environment (IDE). This tool makes it easy to evaluate and develop with Microchip's broad range of 16 and 32bit products, enabling developers to find the best MCU or DSC for their applications.

"With this tool, we've made it even easier and more affordable to start developing with 16 and 32bit PIC MCUs, and 16bit DSCs," said Sumit Mitra, VP of Microchip's High-Performance Microcontroller Division. "Additionally, customers can easily plug the Microstick II tool into a standard prototyping board for expansion and further development."

The Microstick II tool (part # DM330013-2) ships with a USB cable, two 1x14 header pins for proto board use, sample MCUs, and sample DSCs. It can be purchased today, at http://www.microchip.com/get/6THR.
