Analogix Semiconductor Inc. introduces ANX112x product line of highly-integrated internal display translators that convert a system platforms' DisplayPort output to existing single or dual LVDS embedded screens.

Compliant with DisplayPort version 1.1a and embedded DisplayPort (eDP) at link rates of up to 2.7Gbs, the Analogix ANX1120 and ANX1121 chips allow for the development of battery-optimised, cost-effective Intel Sandy Bridge, Ivy Bridge and other CPU platforms.

"Tablet andnotebookmakers are in the midst of a major technology shift—CPUs are removing legacy LVDS interfaces and replacing them with embedded DisplayPort in order to reduce pin count," said Andre Bouwer, VP of marketing for Analogix. "However, the transition to DisplayPort-ready panels will take a few years, creating an immediate market need for the battery-optimised Analogix' DisplayPort to LVDS converters for manufacturing flexibility."

The Analogix ANX112x product line of highly-integrated display translators share the benefits of special circuitry for content protection, key panel control features for seamless system integration, panel dimming, and the implementation of power saving modes to reduce overall system battery consumption.

The ANX1120 is said to be ideal for laptops, All-in-Ones and industrial embedded systems, while the ANX1121 sports a smaller footprint for tablets and ultra-lightnotebooksas well as a built-in MCU with internal or external EEPROM options, and built-in oscillator to complement its super low-power VESA-compliant DisplayPort1.1a receiver, which draws around 100mW at HD resolutions.

The ANX1120 features dual or single LVDS channel output; 24 or 18bits per pixel with maximum frequency of 270MHz; up to QXGA (2048x1536), 60Hz refresh resolution and 64-QFN package.

The ANX1121 features single LVDS channel output; 18bits per pixel with maximum frequency of 270MHz; up to WSXGA+ (1680x1050), 60Hz refresh resolution and 36-QFN package.

The ANA112x series products are available now for below Rs.89.69 ($2) in quantities of 10K.
