A district court in Dusseldorf, Germany court favoured Apple while issuing an order temporarily barring Samsung from selling its Galaxy Tab 10.1 media tablets in most of the European Union, according to reports.

The injunction bans sales of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 throughout the EU, except in the Netherlands, according to the reports.

In recent months, Apple has taken aggressive legal action against Samsung, a longtime Apple supplier that Apple has accused of copying the look and feel of Apple's iPad and iPhone with its own Galaxy smartphone and tablet offerings.

Last week, Samsung agreed to an Apple request not to sell Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablets in Australia, pending the outcome of litigation between the two companies in that country.

In April, Apple filed a patent infringement lawsuit against Samsung in U.S. District Court in Northern California. Samsung later countersued Apple and, in June, filed a complaint against Apple with the U.S. International Trade Commission.
