DataDirect Networks Inc. (DDN) and DVTel Inc. have collaborated on a highly-scalable "pay-as-you-grow" video surveillance management infrastructure offering guaranteed frame quality and 100 percent protection against data corruption.

The surveillance infrastructure allows consumers to seamlessly expand from just a few hundred to tens of thousands of end-points by simply adding cameras and sensors with the corresponding additional capacity to their current data storage infrastructure, based on budget and growth requirements.

The "pay-as-you-grow" model eliminates over-provisioning in order to save up to 200 percent on system maintenance, cooling and valuable datacenter floorspace, based on the integration of DDN's S2A6620, S2A9900 and SFA10000 information management systems with DVTel's Latitude Network Video Management System (NVMS) V6.1.

By using the integrated DVTel-DDN surveillance architecture, consumers can gradually scale up DVTel's smart security solution and support video surveillance deployments to tens of thousands of cameras while guaranteeing quality of service with no frame dropping, regardless of any hardware and/or software failures.

In addition, the integrated surveillance architecture accelerates consumers' access to video surveillance data, with archive retrieval rates of over 1GB/s per system and latency of as low as 1ms, while achieving 300 percent performance efficiency and NVR scalability compared to iSCSI-based methods of CCTV video storage.

The DDN/DVTel embedded solution builds on an intelligent storage appliance that scales from 100TB to 3.6PB, allowing consumers to only pay for storage when the system demands it.
