Keywords:timer  signal

This application note by Renesas Electronics Corp. presents a sample program that uses the TMR (8bit timer) module of the RX610 Group to output a user-defined number of pulses with a 50% duty cycle. RX 610 Group is the target device.

The device has an 8bit timer (TMR) module based on 8bit counters. The TMR comprises two units, each with two channels, for a total of four channels. The 8bit timer module can be used to count external events and also be used as a multi-function timer in a variety of applications, such as generation of counter resets, interrupt requests, and pulse output with a desired duty cycle using a compare-match signal for two registers.
