Diodes Inc.'s 74LVC1GXX and 74LVCE1GXX CMOS logic families are now available in smaller packages designed for cell phones, smartphones and tablet computers.

The single-gate devices come in DFN1410 packages measuring 1.4mm x 1mm x 0.4mm. The new logic parts, meant to be direct replacements for industry-standard components, include AND, NAND, OR, NOR, XOR, inversion and buffering functions. They are ideal for use in battery-powered products as they draw less than 1µA of supply current.

The 74LVC1GXX family devices, which provide a direct interface with TTL levels, operate from 1.6V to 5.5V. The 74LVCE1GXX devices, meanwhile, operate from 1.4V to 5.5V. Their wide operating range means they may be used for voltage level shifting. The output drive is ±24mA at 3.3V. The logic devices' IOFF output circuitry ensures that outputs are disabled during power-down to prevent reverse current flow and to provide signal isolation.
