Asia-India Operations, ST Microelectronics and ISA Convener, Medical Electronics Segment added, "Estimated at $63 billion [Rs.2.81 lakh crore], India's healthcare expenditure represents about 1 to 1.5 per cent of the total worldwide healthcare bill. With approximately 17 per cent of the world's population living here, there is a huge opportunity to improve peoples' lives and grow businesses. Medical electronics is a critical enabler for this industry.
