Wipe solution renders stencil 'fluxophobic'

DEK International flaunts of a stencil coating technology, Nano-Pro Tek, which is an easy-to-apply wipe solution that needs just 30 seconds to render the stencil surface fluxophobic. This enables high-performance stencils that allow the reduction of cleaning frequency as well as consumables cost.

DEK's proprietary formula is said to bind with the stencil surface and turns it "fluxophobic," which means the flux loses its propensity to stick to apertures and the bottom side of the stencil. Nano-Pro Tek also boosts the capacity of the under stencil cleaner and improves the gasketing of the stencil to the PCB, leading to a greater first-pass yield.

Global franchise and product manager Michael Zahn claims Nano-Pro Tek needs just 30 seconds to render the stencil surface fluxophobic. Aside from reducing consumables cost and cleaning frequency, Nano-Pro Tek also enhances paste release and leads to higher productivity, he added.

It may be used on new and existing stencils at room temperature and can be re-applied as needed.
