Low-power stereo audio codec boasts high performance

The AK4953A operates from a 3.0V or 3.3V typ core supply, with a 1.8V digital supply and a speaker driver supply ranging from 0.9V to 5.5V. Speaker driver output is up to 400mW at -70dB THD+N and 95dB SNR.

Other key features include 96 dB dynamic range (ADC and DAC); digital ALC; 5-band EQ and notch; wind noise reduction; digital volume control (+12dB ~ -115dB, 0.5dB step, mute); no output AC coupling capacitors; sampling from 8 to 96kHz; and integrated LDO.

The AK4953A is available in a 36-pin 5 x 5 x 0.4-mm QFN package starting from Rs.71.44 ($1.53) each/10,000. Evaluation boards (AKD4953A) and samples are available now.
