MOSFETs tailored for VoIP communication equipment

Diodes Inc. unveils its MOSFET product line with the DMN60xx series of 60V N-channel devices customised for VoIP communication equipment.

Designed to handle the high pulse current required to generate tip and ring line feeds and to sustain an avalanche of energy induced during switching, the DMN60xx series meets the stringent requirements of the primary switch position in transformer based SLIC DC/DC converters.

Currently, Diodes is offering four products, a choice of four different industry standard package options: DMN6068SE in SOT223, DMN6068LK3 in TO252 and in SO8, the single MOSFET DMN6066SSS and the dual MOSFET DMN6066SSD, the latter replacing two separate devices to enable reduction of component count and PCB footprint.

These MOSFETs' low gate charge and input capacitance translate to an operation with minimal or no buffering, at low logic level voltages; thereby simplifying SLIC circuit architecture and further reduction of component count, as well as cost.

Device gate charge and on-resistance functions have been balanced to drive the requisite figure of merit for VoIP applications, also consisting of cable and DSL modems, analogue terminal adaptors and private branch exchanges.
