Photovoltaic sector will grow due to the growing conscience for green energy, says Frost & Sullivan.

Political pressure is rising to reduce carbon emissions and promote use of renewable energy sources worldwide, auguring well for photovoltaic materials suppliers.

This is good news for the market, which experienced a temporary slide in demand in 2009.

New analysis from Frost & Sullivan Strategic Analysis of the global photovoltaic materials markets shows that the relevant markets generated revenues of Rs.6,257.27 crore ($1.34 billion) in 2009, and estimates this to reach Rs.7,471.36 crore ($1.60 billion) in 2010.

Frost & Sullivan research analyst, Gaurav Vyas says, "With rising awareness about green trends, the future lies in technologies that offer enhanced energy efficient solutions at a low-cost." He adds, "Manufacturers who offer products with optimum performance while remaining price-oriented are poised to gain substantial market share."
