MAXQ1004 MCU

Maxim Integrated Products has introduced the MAXQ1004, a 16bit microcontroller that integrates a true random-number generator (and a high-speed Advanced Encryption Standard encryption engine supporting 128-, 192- and 256bit key sizes. The devices was designed for use in protecting revenue streams (battery pack authentication), validating peripherals (video game controllers), and implementing secure communication schemes (automotive keyfobs).

The MCU integrates 16KB flash memory and supports multiple communication options including SPI and 1-Wire interfaces. Its consumption can go as low as 300nA in its lowest power stop mode. Its operating range is from 1.7V to 3.6V. Two AA batteries are enough to support the MAXQ1004.

The MAXQ1004 comes in a Pb-free 16-pin TQFN package. Operating temperature range is from -40° C to +85° C. It is priced at Rs.116.75 ($2.50) each for an order of at least 1,000 units, FOB United States.
