Seer Akademi, eInfochips have signed an MoU with Babaria Institute of Technology to impart training and support research activities to help in building the skills of engineering graduates across Gujarat.

eInfochips will be the local and implementation partner for this course offered jointly with Seer Akademi. eInfochips will help to implement the programme through complete content delivery through training and exams conducted. Besides giving technical support in lab development at college site, einfochips will also help in training faculty coordinators and reach out across Gujarat. Seer Akademy is an educational content provider for Synopsys University Programme. BIT has been identified as a "Centre of Excellence" by Synopsys.

The programme features a state-of-the-art computing environment, use of Synopsys software tools and IC design flow, and access to experienced faculty. The curriculum will be used in classroom instruction, training and research to help advance the circuit design and fabrication knowledge of India. Courses will be conducted via interactive online webinars, social networking media and live sessions with academic and industry experts. New programmes in embedded systems, alternate energy, electronics entrepreneurship and smart grid technology will also be created. Courses are planned to be available starting fall 2010.

Developed by the Synopsys Armenia Education Department (SAED), the curriculum is part of the Synopsys Worldwide University Program. This proven educational model of university-industry cooperation was successfully implemented in Armenia, Russia and China before being adopted by institutes in India. The program is aimed at training specialists to meet the complex design requirements of semiconductor industry companies, a key component in the competitiveness of India's high tech economy. The goal is to provide a qualified workforce that has the knowledge and skills necessary to be quickly productive in the industry. Working with Seer Akademi and eInfochips, SAED will also provide the regional centres of excellence with the industry experts and academic faculty to supervise Master theses and PhD dissertations.

"We have seen a strong wave of demand for high quality electronics education and interest in entrepreneurship from Gujarat,. This initiative is powerful because it combines advanced education and research to build an entrepreneurial ecosystem in the region. Synopsys has been successful in establishing practices to help develop a highly qualified workforce in several other countries. We want to bring this success to the students of Gujarat.", enthused professor Srikanth Jadcherla, chairman and CEO of Seer Akademi.

"It is indeed a privilege for us at BIT to be recognised as a Centre of Excellence for this pioneering initiative. With Industry leaders like eInfochips and SEER Akademi as our partners in progress, I am confident that this programme shall become the ideal reference point for industry-academia interactions," said Jagdish Patel, chairman of BIT.

Speaking on the occasion, Pratul Shroff, CEO eInfochips, said "This pioneering model of industry academia collaboration in the state of Gujarat will enhance the state's reputation in creating best talent to serve the knowledge based industry. Gujarat is poised to become a major IT destination and creation of a talent base for this purpose is a crucial necessity. These collaborative efforts of collaboration between international talent agencies and local academic & corporate institution might be just the beginning in creating an IT savvy State. It is eInfochips' contribution in addressing one of the vital requirements prevalent today, that of creating skilled manpower.

"In the near future, there would be a major manpower shortage in the field of microelectronics. As one of the leading IT companies in Gujarat, we aim to bridge that supply gap by generating employable personnel. By leveraging our inhouse human resources & technology leadership along with the knowledge base of the experts across the globe, eInfochips will reach out to students in Urban as well rural areas. It is our way of giving back to society and also accessing the remote areas of Gujarat by leveraging technology, resulting in higher & better Human Development Index.", Shroff said.
