HiPer design suite offers waveform viewer

Among other enhancements, Tanner EDA outlined a redesign of the waveform editor product, W-Edict, to offer designers a signal analysis platform rather than simple layout views. HiPer Silicon v15 also includes a database for the storage and management of simulation data. The third enhancement is HiPer DevGen, a tool that enables device and structure generation for layout productivity.
Developed in conjunction with IC Mask Design, HiPer DevGen focuses on silicon quality and yield to generate production-ready devices. Tanner EDA claimed it allows the creation of T-cells for CMOS technologies, applies matching techniques to address common processing artefacts, produces a solution for parasitics and silicon area and creates devices optimised for high yield.
"Our goal was to create a robust tool that could produce a layout of high quality while simultaneously reducing the cycle time," stated Ciaran Whyte, IC Mask founder and chief technology officer at Tanner EDA. "Beta customers have told us unanimously that HiPer DevGen exceeds their expectations on both dimensions."
The company said HiPer Silicon v15 and the HiPer DevGen add-on are available for the Windows operating system. Linux versions are expected to be available in the second quarter of 2010.
