Avnet Technology Solutions has launched its VirtualPath practice in India to help reseller partners deliver virtualisation solutions that address their customers' business and data centre challenges. Based on the success of its virtualisation practice in the U.S. and Canada, Avnet Technology Solutions, Avnet has now customised its VirtualPath practice to meet the specific needs of partners serving the Indian market.

"Avnet is committed to accelerating our partners' success in the technology areas that are shaping the future of the IT industry," said Jaideep Malhotra, VP and general manager, Asia Pacific, Avnet Technology Solutions. "Virtualisation is quickly being adopted by companies around the world because of its cost-saving, technical efficiency and environmental benefits. Avnet expanded its VirtualPath practice into India to help our partners with the specialised skills needed to pursue opportunities in this complex, solutions-driven market and take advantage of the growth opportunities in virtualisation."

VirtualPath in India will present partners with a variety of market enablement and educational resources designed to help them grow their virtualisation businesses. These include a series of virtualisation-focused boot camps to provide partners with sales skills, technical knowledge and certifications needed to develop virtualisation solutions that address customers' business challenges and deliver measurable results. Additionally, VirtualPath will assist partners with sales resources and marketing programmes designed to position them for long-term success in the virtualisation market. Partners will also be able to develop complete virtualisation solutions, including hardware, software and services, for their customers by leveraging Avnet's portfolio of industry-leading virtualisation suppliers in India, which include VMware, Double Take, Citrix, F5, Novell and Vizioncore.

"Virtualisation technology has tremendous growth potential in India; however, it is also very complex and requires considerable sales and technical expertise," said Naresh Desai, general manager, Avnet Technology Solutions, India. "VirtualPath will provide our partners with the skills they need to be successful by helping them understand how to develop solutions that address business and IT challenges, as well as solutions-focused integration approaches and certification requirements."
