CWR06, CWR16 capacitors

From Vishay come the CWR06 and CWR16 TANTAMOUNT solid tantalum chip capacitors that compliant to the "T"-level requirements of MIL-PRF-55365 for space-level applications.

To establish reliability for a T-level rating, Vishay's CWR06 and CWR16 undergo additional testing, tightened raw material control and production lot definition and control, as well as Weibull level C or D failure rate, and 100 per cent C surge at—55°C, + 0C, and + 85C. In addition, the capacitors receive a 100 per cent visual and X-ray inspection, destructive physical analysis and report, and 2,000-hour life test prior to shipment.

For high-reliability applications, the CWR06 offers a capacitance range of 0.10µF to 100µF over voltage ratings from 4WVDC to 50WVDC, while the CWR16 offers a capacitance range from 0.33µF to 330µF over voltage ratings from 4WVDC to 35WVDC.

Both devices feature an operating temperature of—55°C to + 85°C, + 125°C with voltage derating, in eight case codes (A through H). The capacitors offer capacitance tolerance of ±10 per cent and ±20 per cent standard, with ±5 per cent available, and maximum ESR down to 0.9Ω at 100kHz.

Offered in tape-and-reel packaging per EIA 481, the CWR06 and CWR16 feature RoHS-compliant gold-plate terminations standard, with solder-plated and hot solder-dipped terminations also available.
