Keywords:smart grid R&D renewable energy
The partnership would be aimed at merging the companies' strengths to accelerate the development of smart grid-related solutions and rapidly establish a competitive foothold in Japan and other markets around the world.
Under the MOU, Fujitsu and Fuji Electric will consider how a partnership could be used for joint smart grid pilot projects and tracking efforts to create international standards, as well as how the companies could work together to jointly create technologies that become de facto standards in the market.
The companies will also explore the feasibility of projects in the following three major areas:
• Infrastructure systems for the public sector and electric power companies;
• Systems for private-sector industrial companies in the manufacturing, distribution, and other industries; and
• Joint R&D on advanced fundamental technologies.
The companies will focus on joint pilot projects, the development and sale of grid solutions, international standardisation, and research and development.
