Murata Electronics North America rolls out a pyroelectric infrared (PIR) sensor claimed to be the smallest with a 5mm x 4.7mm x 2.4mm footprint and the only surface mountable PIR sensor available in the market.

The IRS-B210ST01-RI sensor is intended for use in compact, low-profile electronic equipment and, in particular, energy-saving devices.

The IRS-B210ST01-RI provides numerous features including high sensitivity and SNR, high stability against temperature changes and white light and enhanced RF interference (RFI) immunity.

The PIR sensor includes dual 0.85mm x 1.2mm electrodes with a field of vision of ±70° (horizontal) and ±50° (vertical). Its operating temperature range is -40°C to +70°C and driven by supply voltage in the range of 2V to 15V.

Sample price is Rs.86.81 ($1.88). Lead-time is approximately 12 weeks.
