Silicon Hive has licensed its HiveGo VSS3000 video system solution product to Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. This proven product provides Full HD 1080p performance and decodes digital video up to 1920x1080 resolution level at 30 fps. It enables various video decoders to be fully embedded in software for various standard and proprietary video coding formats. It can be used in broadcasting, optical disks and on the Internet.

"We selected the HiveGo VSS3000 product because it offers the unique combination of full programmability, high processing throughput required for Full HD 1080p video signal processing, and completeness as a sub-system that can be easily integrated in SoC designs. We look forward to further use Silicon Hive's parallel processing technology in upcoming electronics products," said KW Chun, VP digital media and communication business of Samsung Electronics.

"We are excited by the opportunity to add value with our video system solution to Samsung, one of the leading electronic companies and consumer trend-setter. We are confident that this agreement will enable building a mutually beneficial relationship," said Atul Sinha, CEO of Silicon Hive.

HiveGo VSS3000 is a complete system solution IP and includes extensive buffering and caching capabilities to limit the system bus load. Complete software-based control of the buffers, caches, and system bus accesses further assists in tolerating system bus latencies. These characteristics enable seamless integration ('drop-in') of HiveGo VSS3000 into existing SoC designs.
