VJ 3505 chip antennas

From Vishay Intertechnology come high-performance multi-layer ceramic chip antennas for mobile devices to cover the entire UHF band from 470MHz to 860MHz.

Utilising Vishay's unique materials and manufacturing technologies, the new Vishay Vitramon chip antennas comply with the MBRAI standard while maintaining small outlines of 35mm x 5mm x 1.2mm for the VJ 3505, and 10.5mm x 15.5mm x 1.2mm for the VJ 6040.

The devices are designed for mobile UHF TV receivers, including DVB-T, DVB-H, ISDB-T, and MediaFLO devices, where they eliminate the need for large external antennas in portable consumer electronics such as cell phones, multimedia devices and notebook computers.

The VJ 3505 and VJ 6040 feature a 50Ω unbalanced interface and operating temperature range of—40°C to + 85°C. The RoHS-compliant devices are omni-directional with linear polarisation, and are designed to be assembled onto a PC board in the standard reflow process. Reference designs and evaluation boards are available upon request.

Samples and production quantities of the ceramic antennas are available now, with a lead time of eight weeks for larger orders.
