IT solutions firm MindTree Ltd has entered mobile handset market with the launch of N!Mo (Next in Mobility), which will offer feature-rich, mobile handsets to telecom service providers and OEMs. It will be headed by Samartha Raghava Nagabhushanam as president and CEO and will be a part of MindTree's product engineering services group.

MindTree's N!Mo will address the complete product lifecycle—from concept through delivery, leading to ready-to-brand products for its customers. Superior user experience will be at the heart of products conceived by N!Mo and the recent acquisition of Kyocera Wireless India provides a strong foundation. The Kyocera team has delivered 4.50 crore wireless phones and has extensive experience in 4G technologies such as WiMAX and Long Term Evolution. N!Mo leverages cutting-edge wireless expertise, coupled with MindTree's chip-to-cloud product engineering expertise.

"N!Mo further adds to our strong leadership position of delivering intellectual properties (IPs) and design services, by offering ready-to-brand products in wireless technologies to our customers. This will enable higher value creation through non-linear business models," said MindTree president and group-CEO, product engineering services, Janakiraman S.

"MindTree's entry into the mobile products business is a natural step forward in our product engineering services journey. N!Mo will become MindTree's 7th engine of growth and will play an important role in achieving our stated vision of $1 billion (Rs.4,861.46 crore) in revenues by 2014," said MindTree executive chairman Ashok Soota.
