Wipro Infotech has partnered with IBM, Microsoft, SAS, Sun Microsystems and Teradata to open a Technology Innovation Hub, Sangam, located Wipro's Electronic City campus in Bangalore.

The centre will evaluate emerging tools and technologies, incubate customer specific solutions and work across technologies to develop innovative IT solutions. The centre will also enable customers to have a compelling view of the solutions.

The centre was formally inaugurated by Ravinder Jain, chief information officer, Aircel, a telecom player in India and one of Wipro's largest customers. "I would like to congratulate the team for setting up Sangam. We at Aircel work closely with Wipro to offer our subscribers, the next-generation telecom experience. With this centre, Aircel can now evaluate technology solutions centred around innovation, get a comprehensive view of solutions and deploy global best practices and tools for the benefit of our customers," Jain said.

The Technology Innovation Hub will not only augment the development of strong competencies in technology, but also enhance strategic business value through technical and process excellence, and best-of-breed solutions that address the challenging and evolving business needs of customers. The integrated environment helps reduce total time for development, resulting in faster time to market and on-time response to business needs.

Sairaman Jagannathan, VP and business head, business solutions division, Wipro said, "We live in very exciting times, with unprecedented opportunities of bringing together great minds and new thoughts that further the cause of innovation. Sangam aims to provide thought leadership for quantum and incremental innovation through partnering and delivering complex industry solutions on emerging technologies. It would work on economies of scale thereby reducing Total Cost of Ownership and maximise realisation of an integration investment."
