mini-Frigate receiver module

Asuka Semiconductor Inc. has unveiled an ultra small DVB-T receiver module that is as small as 30 per cent of a regular business card. Named mini-Frigate, the module features sensitivity of -91dBm (for 16QAM) and very low power consumption at only 1W. It is equipped with two independently-operated but intelligently-combined NIM chips from DiBCOM, accepts signal inputs from antennas and performs all the required DVB-T signal processing for high quality video/audio outputs.

The mobility support is up to 300km/hr under German broadcasting environment. These features make mini-Frigate suitable for embedded applications within portable GPS devices, in-car entertainment systems, and many other applications that hope to include mobile TV service to existing products such as cell phones, personal GPS, multimedia players, etc. Besides delivering high sensitivity, the mini-Frigate also offers small dimensions, low power consumption and high mobility support.

Mini-Frigate module is fully compliant with CE and RoHS requirements, and is already in mass production since Q2 09.
