TI India names new president, managing director

Texas Instruments Inc. has announced that Dr. Biswadip (Bobby) Mitra has been elected president and managing director of TI India. Dr. Mitra will now lead all of TI's research and development, sales and marketing activities in India.

"I am confident that Bobby's global experience and deep understanding of customers' needs will be a vital asset in continuing to grow TI's presence in India, particularly regarding TI's Analog and Embedded Processing innovation, and India market leadership," said Greg Delagi, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Wireless Terminals Business Unit, Texas Instruments.

Dr. Mitra joined TI 23 years ago and most recently served as director of the Americas wireless communication product development activities at TI Inc., Dallas. While in this role, he also led TI's ultra-low power DSP core.

Dr. Mitra holds a B.Tech in Electronics and Electrical Communication Engineering and a Ph.D in Computer Science and Engineering, both from IIT Kharagpur. He also holds an Executive Masters of Business Administration from The University of Texas at Austin.
