Take advantage of Java in RT systems

The embedded real-time development community has been slow to exploit traditional Java benefits. In large part, this is because traditional Java fails to address the special challenges of embedded real-time development. Traditional Java solutions use much more memory and run slower than comparable programs written in the C language. Traditional Java implementations are also unable to honour timing constraints, because automatic garbage collection and dynamic adaptive JIT compilation interfere with application processing, imposing random delays of unpredictable duration.

All of the real-time Java solutions offer the ability to meet demanding timing constraints. Solutions available from various vendors differ in how well they deliver the traditional benefits of the Java language, and how efficiently they address the assortment of requirements associated with typical embedded real-time development projects.
