Seeking to raise cash, ProMOS Technologies Inc. has separately sold select fab gear to two local firms, including Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. Ltd (TSMC) and chip-packaging partner Powertech Technology, according to Reuters.

The Taiwan DRAM maker has sold Rs.88.86 crore (NT$580 million) worth of fab gear to TSMC. With both transactions, ProMOS has sold Rs.122.26 crore (NT$798 million) worth of equipment, according to the report.

Amid the downturn, ProMOS is struggling to survive and is seeking a government-backed bailout. Others are looking to buy the troubled DRAM maker.
