Linear Technology has released the H-Grade version of the LT3481. The LT3481 is a 34V (36V(MAX)) Burst Mode, step-down switching regulator that maintains quiescent current under 50uA. The "H" Grade version operates at 150°C maximum junction temperature, higher than "E" and "I" Grade versions' 125°C. All electrical specifications are identical for the E, I and H. The H Grade parts are tested and guaranteed to operate at the maximum junction temperature of 150°C. They are suited for automotive, industrial and harsh environment applications that are subject to high ambient temperatures.

Linear says that the LT3481 operates within a VIN range of 3.3V to 34V(36VMAX), making it ideal for load dump or cold-crank conditions found in automotive applications. Its 3.2A internal switch delivers up to 2A of continuous output current to voltages as low as 1.25V. Its 50uA of quiescent current is ideal for "always on" applications such as automotive security systems, which require a very long battery life.

Other features:

* Low ripple Burst Mode operation 50uA IQ at 12VIN to 3.3VOUT

* Output ripple <15mV

* Adjustable switching frequency: 300kHz to 2.8MHz

* Low shutdown current: IQ<1uA

* Integrated boost diode

* Power good flag

* Saturating switch design: 0.18 Ohm on-resistance

* 1.265V feedback reference voltage

* Soft-start capability

* Synchronisable between 275kHz to 475kHz

* Small 10-pin thermally enhanced MSOP & (3mm x 3mm)

DFN packages

The LT3481HDD is available from stock in a 10-lead 3mm x 3mm DFN package whereas the LT3481HMSE is available in a thermally enhanced MSOP-10 package. Pricing for both versions starts at Rs.177.86 ($4.15) each for 1,000 piece quantities.
