Keywords:TCP  virtualisation  storage networking  protocol

TCP plays an important role in providing reliable services over unreliable media. How well it can serve the network depends on where the protocol resides on the system, the efficiency of the protocol itself, and the underlying data link layer (the value triangle).

TCP has faced recent turmoil with given increases in bandwidth requirements in servers driven by multi-core CPUs, virtualisation, and convergence of storage networking over the same I/O pipe. Part 3, the final in the series, contains the solutions needed.
